On one side, some adhere to religious principles, believing in moral absolutes, the inherent imperfection of humans on earth, and the existence of absolute truths. These views are rooted in a historical context that aligns with the religious principles upon which the United States was founded.

In stark contrast, the secular viewpoint rejects any divine existence, advocates for the possibility of human perfectibility on earth, and denies absolute truths, viewing them as mere social constructs.
